OORU Collective Care is an emerging organization that builds neighborhood-based collectives, equipping community members to co-design, govern, and lead initiatives rooted in their lived experience.
At a time when communities are fractured by the very institutions claiming to support them, OORU co-creates with families tangible, preventative alternatives to punitive systems like child welfare—centering mutual aid, cultural wisdom, accountability, and preservation of family bonds.
Our mission is to support families who have experienced generational inequities to own and lead the creation of community care networks that address both individual and social justice.
